Honours for Section Members
The ISA Executive Board has approved the following awards for members of the Section:
Golden Achievement Award - Maurice Radford Distinguished Society Service Award - John Lotty (left)
Emerging Leader Award - Kevin Dignam (right)
We congratulate these members on a well earned recognition of their service to the section and the wider society.
The presentations are scheduled to be made at the President's Fall Meeting (PSF) in Houston, Tx, USA in October 2006.

Award for Ireland
Above: The ISA Ireland Section was selected to receive a Section Performance Award for outstanding achievement in conducting a well documented and highly successful membership drive. The Award which included a $500.00 honorarium and plaque was presented at the ISA H&A function in Chicago.

Kevin made a presentation (as is custom and practice) of a Bottle of Jameson Gold Whiskey to ISA President Don Zee on behalf of the Ireland Section.
The Ireland delegates were kindly invited to the Presidents Suite on the top floor of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago (36th) for buffet and refreshments on Wednesday night, 26th October 2005.

Site visit to Genzyme Ireland Waterford on Tuesday 6th September 2005
About Genzyme : Currently, Genzyme employs 230 employees in Waterford.
The Tabletting facility focuses on the manufacture and packaging of Renagel¨, a product for
controlling phosphorous levels in dialysis patients. This process involves converting bulk active
into oral dosage tablets and packaging into bottles. The Fill/Finish facility is designed to be a
sterile multi product facility capable of filling vials ranging from 2 to 50ml at speeds of 100 - 400
units per minute for worldwide markets. The process includes formulation, liquid filling,
lyophilisation (freeze drying), vial inspection and labelling / cartoning. These operations take place
in state of the art cGMP manufacturing facilities with a high focus on ensuring the quality of the
product for our patients are maintained.
